Bradford Health Services opened its doors more than three decades ago and has since then been implementing an individualized treatment approach for individuals struggling with addiction and substance abuse issues. The Warrior lodge located in the city of Warrior, Birmingham is hidden away in a secluded area on 80 acres of land which allows clients to recover in a stress-free, serene environment. The Warrior lodge is just one of the numerous branches of Bradford Health Services some of which are in Memphis, Montgomery, Alabaster, and many more within the United States. Patients are offered effective and tailored treatment throughout their programs and proven 12-step principles are woven into the curriculum. The organization prides itself on affordable and accessible rehab programs and emphasizes the importance of continuing care. Additionally, the facility incorporates a family support program which aims to help patients and their various families heal collectively and individually. A young adult program which is designed to help individuals between the ages of 19-29 achieve sobriety is available at the facility and so are adult and adolescent detoxification programs. This branch also has special programs designed for first responders like cops, firefighters, and EMTs who are constantly at the risk of danger or trauma and a military program for military personnel with alcohol or drug dependency problems. Residential, intensive outpatient and extended care programs are also available to clients for which is necessary.

Housing and Food at Bradford Health Services

The Warrior Lodge is located in the suburb of Birmingham, Alabama and clients live in modest, cozy cottages. Each cottage usually houses two or three people. The lodge can accommodate more than 180 residents and bedrooms feature twin-sized beds. Each cottage has a living room with a TV set and a well-equipped kitchen. Mobile phones and laptops are prohibited at the facility although television may be watched during leisure hours. The facility does not have private chefs as it insists residents should prepare their own meals themselves. Staff members make weekly grocery trips once a week were foodstuff and items are purchased and delivered for the residents. Cooking classes are held once a week for clients interested in improving their cooking skills. The facility also has a basketball court and yoga classes are available every week.

Residential Treatment

The residential stage of treatment is usually reserved for adolescents and adults. Medical detox and stabilization services are provided by the facility 24/7 and residents may also receive 12-step based counseling, trauma-informed therapy, and individual and group sessions.

Outpatient Treatment

In the outpatient treatment program, personalized treatment will be offered on a flexible schedule with a certified counselor. This program is ideal for people who respond well to treatment in non-restrictive environments and those who have completed the inpatient stage of care.

Clients are advised to call the facility as financial counselors and staffs are available to answer questions relating to insurance and payment. The facility is in-network with most insurance providers, although a verification process is done to make sure that a client’s insurance covers payment for the program.

Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Furman University and completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the South Carolina Medical University. He later went to the New Hanover Memorial Hospital where he completed his residency and internship. He is currently a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Having over 15 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse disorder sector, he has gained enough knowledge is the best ways to treat addiction in clients.

Clay Simmons
Chief Executive Officer

Clay earned a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia University and then went to Georgia Southern University where he holds a Master’s degree from. He is a member of the Board of Directors in the facility as he has been working with them since 1986. Prior to working with Bradford Health, he worked at Charter Medical Corporation, where he was in charge of the management of clients in the adolescent and adult treatment unit. With over 40 years of experience in the mental health and addiction disorder sector, he has been able to help make the facility a top choice for clients seeking treatment.

Mike Rickman
President/Chief Operating Officer

Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Auburn University majoring in accounting and a Master’s degree from the University of West Alabama majoring in Business Administration. Prior to working with the company, he held the position of CEO for a hospital that was a part of the Tenet Healthcare System. He also held the position of COO and Co-founder of a company that managed outpatient treatment or care centers. Having a lot of experience in proper patient care, Mike excels in his position as president and strongly believes that satisfying employees is directly linked to satisfying patients.
