Community Bridges Inc. Overview

Founded in 1982, Community Bridges Inc. is a non-profit and private organization which has been providing all-inclusive, medically integrated recovery programs for individuals suffering from substance abuse and behavioral problems for more than three decades. The organization is one of the largest providers of behavioral and medical health care in the state of Arizona. The organization has treatment centers in up to 14 communities including Yuma, Maricopa, Apache, Pinal counties and offers up to 29 treatment programs. Community Bridges provides a continuum of care that involves prevention, treatment, and recovery and offers holistic, effective treatment by experienced nurse practitioners and physicians. The organization offers also offers a program exclusively for women and children, the Center for Hope, which opened in January 2005 and seeks to provide pregnant, postpartum, and homeless women in need to behavioral health treatment with medical and housing services. Center for Hope provides transitional housing and outpatient treatment programs for adult women and children (6 years and older) suffering from mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders. The organization also offers crisis stabilization and an inpatient detoxification program which includes monitoring and evaluations. The organization has a person-centered, support network to help individuals live independently and outpatient and residential programs for clients who are interested in long-term recovery and various forms of effective therapy. The organization has three inpatient programs in Yuma, Holbrook, and the Benson Desert facilities. Treatment may last for up to two months depending on the needs of the client.

Housing and Food

The organization operates three residential programs: one situated at the Yuma Lighthouse, one in Holbrook, and the last in Benson Desert facilities. The Yuma Lighthouse can accommodate up to 24 people, Benson Desert Sunrise can house up to 12 adults at any time, and the Al long residential can accommodate up to 16 male adults. Length of stay usually ranges from two weeks to two months depending on the needs of the resident. Most rooms at the facility have private bathrooms and can accommodate two people. At the Center for Hope facility for women and children in Mesa, Arizona women and newborn babies and children live on the 24-unit campus which includes three cozy cottages, a child development center, a family visitation room, and outdoor play areas. Food at the facilities in prepared on site and served in the dining rooms.

Residential Programs

In the residential programs offered by the organization, patients may receive treatment for up to 60 days which includes evaluations, therapeutic programming, and the practice of coping skills. In this program, residents may also undergo individual and group therapy, detoxification, peer support, and relapse prevention.

Outpatient Treatment

In the outpatient treatment program, the facilities offer behavioral and medical treatment to participants suffering from substance abuse, behavioral and mental health issues. Short and long-term recovery is the focus of this program and each individual is offered evidence-based forms of treatment by experienced medical support staff, clinical administrators, and specialists.
