The Fellowship Center is a behavioral healthcare and rehabilitation facility for substance abuse victims in Escondido, in the suburbs of San Diego, California. Since it’s founding in the year 1963, this facility has been providing therapy and care to teenaged and adult male clients suffering from alcohol or chemical dependency and related issues.
Treatment at the Fellowship Center commences with a comprehensive assessment after admission. The diagnosis arrived at based on the assessment helps the team at TFC to devise individualized treatment plans for each incoming client. This ensures that every client gets access to specialized care that specifically targets their particular needs.
The facility provides both inpatient and outpatient care to clients. Their inpatient care comprise of programs lasting different durations such as 30-days, 60-days, 90-days, and 120-days. Patients are usually assigned to the 30-day program and their length of treatment is extended depending upon their progress and further needs.

Accommodation and Food

The Fellowship Center comprises 4 residential buildings that house inpatient clients. They have a total capacity of accommodating 100 residents at a time. The size of the rooms and how many people share one room depends on which building a client opts for. Those funding their treatment through self-pay are accommodated in double-sharing rooms furnished with single beds. Client’s paying with insurance are accommodated in double or triple-sharing rooms.
Furthermore, the facility also houses clients who get county funding to undergo free treatment and rehabilitation. These clients are housed in large rooms furnished with bunk beds shared by up to 5 residents. Bathrooms are located at the end of the hallways in each floor and they are shared by the residents living in each respective floor.
Living rooms and community rooms are also provided in every building for recreational and socializing purposes. The cafeteria-style kitchen provides three meals a day along with additional snacks on-site. The menu comprises a variety of options including fruits, vegetables, salads, etc. Special dietary requirements due to allergies or other medical reasons are also accommodated.

The facility provides its patients with a range of treatment options that include inpatient care, outpatient treatment, and sober living. Prospective clients in need of intensive treatment tend to opt for the inpatient programs where they have access to 24×7 supervision. On the other hand, for clients who have work or social responsibilities that they cannot give up, non-residential care in an outpatient setting is a better choice.
Furthermore, TFC also provides a sober living facility to clients who have already completed their treatment programs. This ensures that clients who wish to keep themselves away from the temptation of alcohol or drug abuse can have a safe living space free of those substances. The Fellowship Center charges a minimal amount of $1,500 for 30 days of treatment. If a client has to extend their treatment or stay at the facility, their treatment cost goes up according to the same rate in conjunction with the length of enrollment. They accept payment in the form of self-pay through cash or credit cards. They also accept state-financed or private insurances that include the following:

The Fellowship Center Amenities

TLC offers inexpensive rehab facilities on a sliding scale basis depending on prospective clients’ economic background. This enables them to serve more substance abuse victims including those unable to afford the more upscale treatment centers. While they do not offer detox or dual diagnosis support, the issues related to co-occurring disorders can be brought up in any of the group or individual therapy sessions.
This facility also puts an emphasis on sensitizing the family members of substance abuse victims towards the trauma and struggles faced by them. As such, their family program is aimed at ensuring that the families of every victim is educated towards the needs of their struggling loved one. This ensures that clients have a support system to draw strength from throughout their recovery.

CEO

Rick Petersen is the chief executive officer at the Fellowship Center in charge of overseeing the planning and executing of policies as well as overall operations. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the California State University, San Diego.

Ray DiCiccio
Program Director

Ray DiCiccio has been associated with the Fellowship Center for almost 5 years. He joined the team at the facility in January 2014. As program director, he is in charge of the planning and development of both the inpatient and outpatient treatment programs offered at the facility. He has a masters in social work from San Diego State University.

Michael Hemat
Clinical Supervisor

Michael Hemat joined the team at the Fellowship Center in 2009 and has served as an addiction counselor and program manager throughout his 9-year long career here. He currently serves as the clinical supervisor specializing in mental health, crisis intervention, and conducting group therapy sessions.
