Beit T’Shuvah Overview
Located in the city of Los Angeles, California, Beit T’Shuvah is a residential addiction recovery, congregation, and educational center for men and women suffering from substance abuse issues. The congregation began in 1987 in the form of a small Friday night service which took place in the backyard of a halfway house and involved eight men under the supervision of Mark Borovitz. Today, Mark Borovitz is now a Rabbi and assists the congregation in providing assistance for more than 300 families. In its philosophy, the center believes that addiction is the evidence of a divided self and a means of providing a temporary sense of well-being. The center is very rooted in the spiritual principles of Judaism and believes that every single person has a right to redemption. The facility offers a spiritual, faith-based approach to treatment incorporating creative arts, psychotherapy, and the 12-step program. Additionally, the center engages its members in Jewish study, discussions, prayer, and meditation. Programs offered are individualized to suit the needs and wants of each patient and take place in a protected and safe environment. Among the levels of care, the facility provides a residential treatment program, an extended care, and an aftercare program. Most of these treatment programs are heavily based on counseling and therapy. The center also offers a 6-week family education program for families battling substance addiction problems.
Accommodation And Food
The facility offers gender-specific accommodation with the capability of housing up to 145 adults at a time. Clients are also accommodated in semi-private rooms and should expect to live with one person. The campus also features a sanctuary, dining room, fitness center, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Meals are usually healthy and well-balanced and clients can participate in planting, growing, and harvesting their own produce in the center’s organic garden.

The aftercare program designed to meet the needs of each client and involves various therapy and counseling models. Clients also receive spiritual guidance, professional career counseling, and the opportunity to be mentored by members of the Alumni Association.

Non-residents will pay approximately $12,500 for the same 30 days but both prices are subject to change as it is greatly dependent on the level of care and treatment a patient requires. The facility is in-network with most major insurances and is available to work with out-of-network providers. Rabbi is an ex-con, a recovering alcoholic, a spiritual leader, and a senior rabbi making him very relatable and also helping him build trust and reach all kinds of individuals.

Warren is certified by the state of California to be a public accountant. He also used a be a partner of Goldrich & Kest Industries before he retired and had joined the real estate company as a controller before working his way to the top and becoming the Chief Executive Officer. He was the founding president and Chairman of the board of Biet T’Shuvah and is committed to helping the less fortunate and individuals suffering from addictive behaviors. He has served on the board for 12 years and has been recognized with notable awards for his dedication.
Chief Financial Officer
Julie holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California in Economics and a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics in Economics. Prior to joining the organization, she served in different capacities at different organizations including the Jewish Community of Chicago where she served as the Financial Manager and V-Mark Automation where she served as CFO and Co-owner.
