Recovery Without Walls charges $1000 for the initial assessment followed by about $3000 per day for regular treatments. These comprise of physician or nurse practitioner appointments charged at $500.00 and $380.00 per hour respectively. They accept payment through self-pay.
Treatment bills are payable through a credit card and the payment information is kept secure. The facility does not bill insurance directly but does provide clients with a superbill. This can be forwarded by the client to their insurance provider for reimbursement where applicable.

Howard Kornfield
Founder and Medical Director

Howard Kornfield is a nationally recognized specialist of Opioid-related substance abuse treatment. Apart from founding and managing Recovery Without Walls, he was also a founding medical director at the Alameda County Medical Center and maintains his own private practice at Mill Valley, California.
He has a medical degree from the Northwestern University School of Medicine and holds board certifications in pain, addiction, and emergency medication. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Janis Phelps
Director of Clinical Psychology

Janis Phelps has been associated with the facility for over 8 years. She has been holding a Marital and Family Therapist license since 1982 and a Clinical Psychologist license since 1987. As the director of clinical psychology at the facility, she facilitates the recovery of clients through individual and relationship therapy and by ensuring mind-body wellness. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology (1986) from the University of Connecticut.

Inna Zelikman
Deputy Medical Director

Inna Zelikman joined the team at Recovery around 15 years ago. Prior to this, she had also been associated with various other healthcare centers. She earned her R.N. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of California at San Francisco.
