Santa Barbara Rescue Mission is a rehabilitation center that brings emotional, physical, and educational relief for people struggling with homelessness and addiction. It was established in 1965 and has been serving the county and city of Santa Barbara for more than 50 years now. The programs at the center are based on the teachings of the Gospel and Jesus Christ. Housing and Food at Santa Barbara Rescue Mission

The Santa Barbara Rescue Mission is located close to downtown Santa Barbara, California. There are separate residential facilities for men and women. The campus offers a safe, private, and secure environment to clients. They enjoy the warmth of a comfortable and cozy environment which helps in their recovery journey and lets them forget their past painful experiences. The men’s facility can accommodate 45 men whereas the women’s facility can accommodate 24 women. Four to five clients share a room during the initial month of their treatment after which they are moved to double-occupancy rooms. Both the facilities are structured in a home-like setting with rooms adequately furnished with beds and storage spaces for residents. There are patios where clients can relax in free times. Clients are assigned daily chores which they have to complete. Deep cleaning of the house is carried out on Saturdays in which all clients participate. Clients also assist the chef in the kitchen for preparation of meals. Meals are prepared three times a day and served in the dining halls segregated by gender. Special consideration is given in the preparation of nutritious and healthy meals while taking into account dietary restrictions/specifications of clients.
