Located in the city of Victorville in the southwestern San Bernardino County of California, St. John of God Health Care Services is a dependence treatment facility which has been providing treatment services to adolescents and adult men and women dealing with alcohol/drug abuse and chemical dependence for more than 25 years. The treatment center exists under the USA province of the Saint John of God organization, an institute built on the values of hospitality, healing, and respect which has also helped more than 20 million sick and poor individuals in need of assistance. This organization has also offered retirement services in California for decades. The treatment center operates with the integration of an effective Christian-based treatment approach and offers several levels of care such as detoxification, residential, aftercare, and inpatient programs. The institute also offers halfway housing and sober living programs. Residential long-term and short-term programs which cater holistically to the needs of each client are also available at the center. Accommodation And Food

The facility offers short-term (which lasts for about a month) and long-term (which lasts for 3 months) residential treatment programs for clients, although before partaking in these programs, residents are required to go through a week-long detox. The detox process does not involve Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) neither is it medical monitored due to center’s adherence to a social model. Clients may be admitted into the residential program from a waiting list after gaining sobriety. Residents are accommodated two to a single room and also share bathrooms. Accommodation is also gender-specific with mothers and adolescents housed in a separate unit. Meals are served at the center in a communal-style three times daily.
