The Lighthouse Overview

The Lighthouse, located north of Denver, Colorado, is a sober living home for adult men over the age of 18. The brick mansion is located in Fort Collins and serves as a home for convicts on parole and also, self-referred clients. Founded in 2011, the facility is dedicated to creating a clean environment where clients can begin the long-term journey to sobriety. Clients at home are self-referred, professionally-referred, or court-ordered.
The facility maintains a zero tolerance policy for all substances and alcohol use at all times. Every night clients are required to take a breathalyzer, as well as urine test at multiple times during their stay. All residents of the home are required to attend one 12-step meeting (Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous) daily, or must be registered at an outpatient treatment facility, or must be attending a church program. Each individual at the facility is also required to have a sponsor, as this will show their level of seriousness and demonstrate their willingness to remain active in their recovery.
All clients at the facility are required to have jobs, be employed full time, or be actively looking for jobs while living at the home. Clients are required to be present for a mandatory meeting that holds every week and is to be the house by their curfew time. Curfew is at 7 pm for new intakes and as they progress in the program, the time will be extended gradually to 12 am. The late curfew time is also given to clients who meet their house responsibilities. Clients are also expected to clean up after themselves and complete their house chores.

Accommodation and Food

The facility offers dorm-style accommodations, as it is used to be a fraternity house which was converted to a sober living home. The organization currently offers a 24-bedroom house, where each client shares a room with another client. The house offers a large living area downstairs and a spacious dining room for eating and peer interaction.
Other amenities offered include a game room with multiple recreational activity tools such as darts, pool, and many others. The facility also offers a commercial grade kitchen, where clients can cook their meals. A laundry room and family room are also amenities offered within the facility. For fun and relaxation, clients can watch cable TV, which is provided by the organization as well as food. All meals provided can be eaten by clients as desired, as the facility regularly stocks the kitchen and clients can cook whatever meal they want.

Pricing

The facility operates a self-pay house, meaning clients registered at the facility are required to pay all bills monthly. It is not a medical facility and as such, most insurance plans do not cover payment for the stay. Payments are required to be paid in advance each month as the facility does not currently have funding for scholarships or grants. Clients are required to pay a one-time admission fee of $50 and a payment of $675, on moving day. Subsequently, the price reduces and individuals stay for longer periods.
