Wellington Retreat Overview

Located in the town of Lantana, Florida in the Palm Beach County, Wellington Retreat (currently known as Family Center for Recovery) is a treatment facility for adolescents, teenagers, and adults dealing with substance use and/or mental health disorders. The treatment center also provides support for pregnant women dealing with mental health and substance abuse problems. The facility has been providing treatment for more than ten years and was founded by a Board Certified psychiatrist named Dr. Robert A. Moran who, since 1993, has dedicated his life to the treatment and study of psychiatric disorders and also been heavily involved in substance use disorder treatments. The facility is the only addiction treatment center in Florida founded, owned, and operated by an addiction psychiatrist. The facility provides evidence-based treatment with the help of a multidisciplinary treatment staff consisting of primary therapists, case managers, adolescent therapists and more. The center provides customized treatment plans tailored to fit the needs of each patient. For families dealing with issues ranging from codependency and substance use disorders to mental health issues, the center provides an accredited weekend family program to address these problems. Among the levels of care, the center offers a drug/alcohol detoxification program, outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential treatment programs.

Accommodation

The center consists of a block of duplexes in which clients are housed and treatment services are rendered. Clients may start treatment at the Intensive Outpatient Program or day program level of care and have the option to attend the outpatient program while living at home or living on-site. The center is capable of housing up to 46 persons at a time and residents are accommodated in hotel-style, gender-specific rooms. Residents in each room share a bathroom but have their own beds.
Residents are responsible for preparing their own food and doing their shopping.

Detoxification

The center’s drug and alcohol detoxification program is designed for persons going through withdrawal from toxic chemical substances such as opiates, alcohol, barbiturates and is supervised by a well-trained medical director.

Residential Program

The residential program provides 24/7 medical supervision and is overseen by a clinical treatment team and a board-certified psychiatrist. The program has a high staff-to-patient ratio and provides various individualized, evidence-based treatment methods.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for patients interested in receiving treatment for addiction while maintaining their home and work lives. The program requires patients to attend group meetings, keep a steady job, and attend recommended therapy sessions.

Wellington Retreat costs approximately $20,000 for a 30-day treatment that includes detox. Another 30 days and housing cost $640 and for a further 30 days and food costs $400. All prices are subject to change as they are greatly dependent on the type of treatment and level of care a client requires. The facility is in-network with most insurance companies such as Aetna, First Health Network, Unicare, Beacon Health Options, Prime Health Services Mental health, and more. The facility is also available to work with out-of-network providers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Humana, and more. Wellington Retreat Advantages

The facility offers recreational activities and as such, a swimming pool is available on-site. This swimming pool can be accessed by all residents of the facility. Both male and female clients are advised to bring swimming wear, that is, boxer type swimming trunks for the men and one piece with straps for the female clients.
Appropriate footwear must be worn at all types by all clients registered at the facility. Bare feet are not allowed at all but sneakers, flats, and flip-flops are allowed. Bare feet navigation is only allowed around the pool area. The facility offers comprehensive, structured, organized, and well-rounded programs to clients seeking treatment from substance abuse and mental health issues.

Robert A. Moran
Chief Executive Officer & Medical Director

Robert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Trinity College-Hartford. He earned his Medical Degree from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and completed an internship in the New York Hospital. He completed his residency at the Cornell Medical Center (NY hospital). He is board certified to practice Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.

Stacey Hodges
Clinical Director

Stacey holds a Bachelor’s degree from Northwood University majoring in business. She also holds a Master’s degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Counseling Psychology. She is licensed by the State of Florida to practice mental health Counseling.

John Boyles
Facilities Director

John joined the company over 18 years ago, assisting with the opening and development of the Advanced Recovery center at that time. He has served in different capacities within the organization such as organizing training programs for employees, personal assistant to the CEO, housing maintenance, Director of Operations, and more. He is living clean and is practicing the 12-step lifestyle.
