Twelve Oaks Recovery Center Overview

Twelve Oaks Recovery Center is a substance abuse and mental health treatment facility for adults 18 and older located in the community of Navarre, just outside of Pensacola, northwest Florida. For more than thirty years the center has provided exemplary and comprehensive care to adult men and women dealing with substance addiction, chemical dependence, and co-occurring disorders.

The facility is very highly regarded and is presently one of the top recovery centers in Florida. The center designs treatment plans for patients based on their unique needs and encourages collaborations with addiction specialists and professionals. A full continuum of care is offered at the recovery center and three specialized tracks within the inpatient residential program are included in the facility’s curriculum to tend to every patient’s unique need. The tracks include the PROCLAIM, a Christian-based treatment program which integrates Christian spirituality with psychologically-based counseling and ASPIRE, a program designed for individuals dealing with addiction and co-occurring PTSD. Medically monitored detoxification, family therapy, experiential therapy, and medication management are all incorporated into treatment. Among the levels of care, the facility provides a residential substance abuse treatment program, a partial hospitalization program, and an intensive outpatient program. Additionally, the facility offers a special military program for veterans dealing with substance abuse and trauma.

Accommodation And Food

The center is located on a beautiful five-acre property near Pensacola and is capable of accommodating up to 102 people. The bedrooms are shared, spacious, and resemble college dorm rooms. The rooms are furnished with dressers, twin beds, floor lamps, and tables that double as desks. Clients are advised to bring comfortable conservative clothing enough for 7 days, swimsuits, and personal toiletry. Residents may also bring books, prescription meds, and unopened cigarette packs. Drugs, electronic devices such as cell phones, inappropriate clothing, and perfumes are not allowed in the facility. The center’s main group room has a projector screen for lectures and TV set and residents have access to a fitness room.

The food menu at the center is determined by the head of the dietary program and healthy meals are provided thrice daily. Snacks and personal items are sold at the facility’s campus store.

Medical Detoxification

The detox program offered at the center seeks to provide a safe and comfortable detox process from alcohol, drugs, and other addictive substances with the help of a skilled clinical team and cutting-edge medications.

Inpatient Residential Program

This is a one-month inpatient rehab program which is designed to be safe and effective. Clients taking part in this program are usually involved in experiential and group therapy, detoxification, and 12-step groups.

Intensive Outpatient Program

This is a program for clients who are ready to receive treatment while living independently and clients who require a lower level of care. The patients receive treatment three hours daily for three days per week.

The facility is in-network with most insurance companies such as Tricare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, and many more. Clients are advised to contact the facility for verification of insurance benefits and information on coverage.

Accreditation

The facility is accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and licensed by the State of Florida’s Department of Children and Families. Twelve Oaks is also Tricare certified.

Twelve Oaks Recovery Center Advantages

The recovery center offers alternative and holistic therapies such as yoga, massage therapy, art therapy (creative writing and visual arts), swimming, and many more activities. The serene environment where the facility is located is near the beach and in this, water activities such as beach volleyball are offered. Other fun recreational activities horseshoes and board games are on-site actives that are offered as well. A fitness room is available for clients as it is encouraged by the facility for patients to be completely healthy. Off-site weekend trips are also organized by the facility for patients.
Family therapy is offered but only when recommended as a needed service by the therapist in charge of the client. Aftercare or discharge plan is created for residential clients who have completed a primary program and it is made to fit that patient’s unique needs. On average, clients are placed in an outpatient program for a duration of eight weeks as a follow-up after graduation. This program includes counseling sessions and monitoring progress and commitment at 12-step meetings.
