Overview of WestCare Foundation

WestCare Foundation is a nonprofit organization that offers a wide range of services including substance abuse and addiction treatment, homeless shelters, domestic violence treatment and prevention, and mental health programs. The mission of WestCare Foundation is to empower individuals struggling with life issues through a process of healing and growth, thus enabling them to become productive individuals for themselves, their families, coworkers, and the community in general. The foundation strives to uplift the human spirit by providing quality, efficient, and cost-effective services. The center’s core values are to treat each client with respect and dignity, provide services with integrity and excellence, and to be accountable for all actions. WestCare Foundation offers a number of inpatient and outpatient treatment programs for substance abuse, mental health issues, and co-occurring behavioral health disorders. Gender-specific residential programs are also offered for both short-term and long-term durations. The treatment programs are targeted towards adults, families, veterans, and the LGBT community. The treatment programs utilize therapeutic approaches and evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy. The 12-step programming is also integrated into the treatment programs. Clients are offered life skills development education and taught to foster the agenda of human tolerance in an accepting and nurturing environment.

Housing and Food at WestCare Foundation

The WestCare Foundation is located as a beautiful two-story building in St. Petersburg, Florida. The facility has one residential program specifically for men which can accommodate 36 men for a period of six to eight months. The other program is co-ed which has a capacity of 72 beds for a duration of 12-18 months. Clients stay in dorm-style rooms which can accommodate four to six individuals. All rooms are furnished with twin beds, dressers, and shared closets for residents. Each hall has a set of bathrooms and showers which all clients share. There is a television room which is comfortably furnished where clients can relax in their free times. There are therapy rooms and meetings rooms at the facility which are all decorated in a comfortable and home-like manner. There are kitchens at the facility where meals are prepared. Clients take part in meal preparation under the supervision of kitchen staff. A variety of food options are served including meats, poultry, starch, fruits, and vegetables. A complete salad bar is available for dinner every day. Clients are served meals in the dining hall where they all eat together three times a day. Food allergies and dietary restrictions of clients are also accommodated.

Payment Options at WestCare Foundation

The WestCare Foundation offers a number of treatment and housing services to individuals and families struggling with substance abuse, mental health disorders, homelessness, and other related issues. The foundation aims to provide easily accessible and affordable solutions to the ones in need. The approximate cost of residential treatment is $1,600 for 30 days duration. For clients and families who cannot afford these costs, the option of funding through donation and charity money is also available. The foundation accepts donations and raises funds to pay for the treatment costs of indigent individuals and families. The staff at the admissions office helps clients in finding the most affordable option of treatment.

WestCare Foundation Advantages

WestCare Foundation offers a wide range of services at a number of different locations. The foundation offers inpatient and outpatient treatment services for alcohol addiction, substance abuse, mental health disorders, and co-occurring behavioral health disorders. The foundation also provides prevention and education services for domestic abuse and violence as well as offering transitional housing for the homeless. The center offers a short-term residential program of 6-8 months duration whereas a long-term residential program spanning 12-18 months is also offered. There are co-ed residential programs as well as gender-specific programs for men and women. All programs use innovative and historically-proven treatment modalities which aim to treat a client physically, emotionally, socially, and psychologically. The 12 steps of AA are also embedded in the treatment programs with clients attending regular meetings. Through holistic approaches to treatment, clients are able to heal and grow as a whole person.

Richard Steinberg
Chief Executive Officer/ President

Richard started his career as a Clinical Specialist in the US Army Medical Corps in South Vietnam. Apart from performing his military duties, he developed a substance abuse treatment program for his battalion and would carry out projects of assisting children, elders, and women in the villages. Later after returning back to the States, he joined various community treatment programs serving on different designations including Director and CEO before ultimately joining WestCare Foundation as the CEO/President.

Robert Neri
Chief Clinical Officer

Robert has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Vermont College. He is a Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC) in the State of Florida and a Certified Addictions Professional (CAP). He specializes in designing treatment systems for substance abusers in the criminal justice system and specialized programs for women and children.

Beverly Watts Davis
Chief Program Officer

Beverly has over 30 years of experience in leading and managing various public and private organizations. She has served at various prestigious designations including Director of a Federal Agency, Executive Director, Senior Vice President, and as an elected official.
