Willingway Treatment Center Overview

Located in Bulloch County in the small college town of Statesboro, Georgia, Willingway Treatment Center is a privately-owned drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility for adolescents and adults founded in 1971 by husband and wife duo, Dr. John and Dot Mooney. A surgeon and a nurse respectively, the couple had their own experiences with alcohol and drug dependence after getting married but attained sobriety in later years when they began to help suffering addicts recover in their home. The center utilizes evidence-based practices and offers various levels of care for men, women, and adolescents including medical detoxification, short-term and traditional inpatient, outpatient, extended treatment and five-day family week programs. Treatment plans are tailored to meet the individual needs and want of each client. For patients with co-occurring disorders (including chemical dependency and psychiatric issues), a medical detox process is often the first stage in treatment before psychiatric assessments can be taken. Before admission, patients are confidentially evaluated over the phone by highly trained admission coordinators to recommend possible treatment options and patients are also assessed by certified addiction counselors or staff physicians.
