Interval Brotherhood Home Overview

Located in the city of Akron, Ohio, Internal Brotherhood Home (IBH) is the largest residential treatment center in Summit County for persons dealing with alcohol and drug addiction issues. The non-profit treatment center has been open since 1970 and has provided recovery services to more than 16,000 people. In an exit survey conducted in 2016, the IBH reported that 99.4% of individuals that received treatment at the facility would recommend it to persons seeking help for addiction issues. The center utilizes customized treatment plans for its patients as well as holistic, abstinence-based approaches to treatment which include sober housing, educational and clinical treatment, and employment. The facility also believes in addressing an individual’s whole being during recovery—emotional, mental, social, and physical needs. Staffs at the center are highly trained and consist of education specialists, mental health counselors, medical staff (physicians and psychiatrists), and spiritual advisors. Although the center does not offer detox services, it does offer a long-term residential program which may last between 60-90 days. The facility offers dual diagnosis support for people dealing with co-occurring disorders, comprehensive assessments, and therapy. The center offers a long-term aftercare support program in the form of the REACH project for individuals interested in maintaining their sobriety after the residential treatment. A free six-week family education session is available for family members and loved ones of clients.
