The hospital offers detox, psychiatric inpatient, and partial hospitalization programs for different age groups of clients. The psychiatric disorders that the hospital treats include ADHD, Adjustment Disorder, Aggression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Disruptive Disorders, Psychosis, PTSD, Schizophrenia, and other mental health disorders. Housing and Food

The Longleaf Hospital is located on the southern bank of the beautiful Red River. It is a 92-bed facility that offers a peaceful and tranquil environment for clients where they can leave their worries behind and commit themselves to the journey of recovery. The facility is co-ed but male and female patients stay in gender-specific rooms. Clients stay in double-occupancy rooms which are simply but adequately furnished with single beds, side tables, dressers, and storage areas. Each room has an attached bathroom with basic amenities provided. There is a common room furnished with leather sofas and equipped with a TV which clients are allowed to watch in their free time. The hospital has an indoor gym where clients can exercise and play volleyball. The beautiful scenery that the campus offers provides residents with a relaxing atmosphere where they can participate in yoga and meditation and experience the healing power of nature. The hospital has an in-house cafeteria equipped with a TV, tables, and chairs. An in-house team of chefs and kitchen staff prepares meals for clients three times a day. Usually, meals are served in each client’s room. On weekends, meals are served in the cafeteria where all clients eat together as a community.

The hospital offers inpatient, outpatient, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and partial hospitalization program (PHP). The multidisciplinary staff of physicians, counselors, psychiatrists, and psychologists offer a complete continuum of care to clients and help them achieve lifelong recovery. One distinguishing program at the hospital is their FLAGS Military support program which is the Forgiving Losses and Gaining Strength program. In this program, professional mental health services or chemical dependency services are offered to active-duty military, active reserve, retired military personnel, and active-duty dependents. It is a comprehensive treatment that heals these individuals and their families by managing stress and other behavioral issues through an average-length program of 30 days.

Michael Parker, M.D., Psychiatrist
Medical Director – Psychiatric Program

Dr. Parker is a graduate of the Texas Medical School, San Antonio, Texas. He completed his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who has over 37 years of experience providing psychiatric services in various inpatient and outpatient settings. He joined Longleaf Hospital in 2013.

Renee has a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and an MSW from Louisiana State University. She has over 12 years of experience working in the medical and behavioral health fields.
