Eastern Shore Psychological Services Overview

Eastern Shore Psychological Services, based in the state of Maryland, is a private organization which provides behavioral health services to adolescents, adults, and families in the Eastern Shore of Maryland and beyond looking to overcome mental health and substance abuse problems. The organization began more than 25 years ago and has since provided family, school, and community-based treatment services even for persons who are unable to afford it. The founder of the organization, Dr. Kathryn Seifert, is an expert in the areas of bullying, addiction, mental health, and much more and also specializes in treatment and evaluation of individuals who are behaviorally disordered, emotionally disturbed, or victimized. The organization, during its beginnings, had only a few staff members and one office but has since expanded to offer services in more than three locations including places in Maryland like Easton, Salisbury, and Princess Anne. The organization offers outpatient behavioral treatment services with the help of 85 clinical staff members. The organization’s treatment services focus on four main areas—community, purpose, health, and home. Additionally, the organization also offers psychological testing and evaluation, family advocacy, and an Alcohol Education Program (AEP).

Eastern Shore Psychological Services Advantages

The organization believes that family involvement plays an important role in the client’s recovery and in this, offers a family program called the Family Advocacy Program. This program helps to educate family members on how to help provide recovery and create a healthy environment, which promotes healthy behavior to encourage the client’s recovery. Communication skills, daily living skills, problem-solving skills, and more are worked on during this program to help family members learn how to properly support their loved one in recovery.
The facility also offers outpatient services to individuals seeking such level of treatment; it is available to both adults and adolescents at four different locations in the state of Maryland. Clients registered into an intensive outpatient program are able to enjoy some flexibility, as they can receive treatment while still handling other responsibilities and living in the comfort of their homes. Clients take part in group and individual therapy, three times a week, as well as a family program; where therapists and counselors work with clients in their homes.
In entirety, programs offered are properly vetted and clients seeking treatment at a facility that offers treatment at an affordable price will find Eastern Shore Psychological Services to be a good option.
