Lafayette House Overview

The Lafayette House is a rehabilitation center and a shelter that has been founded back in 1978. Since then, the Lafayette House operates as one of the best rehabilitation centers that offer help the female individuals and their children, who are battling alcohol and drug addiction, in addition to domestic violence or sexual abuse. The Lafayette House poses as a safe place where women are encouraged to ask for help and get a high-quality therapy in a supporting and loving environment in return. The facility offers inpatient and outpatient treatment programs which include individual, group, family, and trauma therapy. Apart from accepting patients who are perusing therapy on their own, court-referred patients are welcomed as well. Detoxification and relapse prevention is available on-site as well. Upon their arrival, the patients are required to complete their detoxification and have their own individualized treatment plan made for them.

Lafayette House Housing

The Lafayette House has been equipped to accommodate up to 16 patients at a time, along with their children. The main facility has a dorm-like style, with up to four patients accommodated in each room. As for patients who are coming to treatment with their children, they are accommodated in a single room, without roommates. Each room is furnished with twin beds, shared wardrobes, desks, and chairs, as well as, shared bathrooms. There is the main kitchen where lunch and dinner are prepared by the on-site kitchen staff, as for breakfast, which the patients are responsible for themselves. The common room is furnished in a simple style, with a TV screen and a sofa, for the patients to relax in.

Lafayette House Treatment Options

The Lafayette House has two treatment programs for the patients to participate in:

  • Inpatient treatment program – The inpatient treatment program offers accommodation and treatment to the patients in 30 days. It includes individual, and group therapy sessions, in addition to trauma therapy and family therapy sessions, according to the case and needs of the patients themselves. After completing the inpatient treatment program, the patients are referred to perusing the outpatient treatment program.
  • Outpatient treatment program – The outpatient treatment program, unlike the inpatient program, does not require patients to live on the grounds of the facility during their treatment. The patients are free to live at home and even visit work or school while they are also attending therapy. The outpatient treatment program at the Lafayette House lasts around 45 days.
