Turning Winds is a specialized treatment center located in the small town of Troy in northwestern Montana. The facility is a residential center that houses both a behavioral healthcare program as well as a therapeutic boarding school. They are a co-ed facility and accept both male and female teenaged students between 13 and 18 years.
Turning winds combines its substance abuse treatment programs with a supplementary psychiatry department. Turning Point accommodates up to 45 male and female students who are housed in separate residential quarters. There are four large dormitory-style bedrooms with attached bathrooms in each gender allocated wings. These rooms are furnished with twin beds, bed linens, and storage areas for personal belongings.
A cafeteria serves three meals a day comprised of healthy and nutritious food options. There are special provisions available to accommodate the dietary requirements of residents with eating disorders or allergies. A registered dietician supervises the planning of the menu. Caffeine intake and smoking are prohibited in the campus.

Turning Winds Amenities
Turning Winds incorporates its natural setting into its specialized treatment programs by combining wilderness therapy with other traditional evidence-based programs. The residential program usually lasts for a 12-month long period, though short-term intensive programs are also available for those who prefer that.
They also encourage the involvement and engagement of family members in the teenagers’ recovery process. The aim is to build these vulnerable individuals a support group network to rely upon. To that effect, they offer family counseling sessions which work towards sensitizing close family and friends towards the needs of the recovering residents.
The center employs a qualified and dedicated clinical team comprising of psychiatrists, a psychologist and MSWs along with other medical and mental health professionals. Fawn Goddard specializes in working with students and has been associated with Turning Winds in various capacities for the past four and a half years. She currently works at the facility in the position of operations manager. Her strengths lie in leadership and organization.
