High Focus Centers Overview

High Focus Centers is an established provider of evidence-based, structured treatment for individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health afflictions. In 1994, High Focus Centers created the first Intensive Outpatient Program for adolescents battling substance abuse in New Jersey and have been providing a host of other treatments for the past two decades. The centers have several locations scattered across the state of New Jersey. Some of these include Paramus, Cherry Hill, Freehold, Branchburg, and Lawrenceville. The center caters to both teenagers and adults and provides individualized treatment plans for each patient suffering from addiction and co-occurring disorder. The centers offer medical assessments—which can take up to two hours and is done by counselors—to determine an effective path of treatment for each patient and outpatient programs in all its locations. Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) which helps individuals struggling with substance use disorder ease their withdrawal symptoms are also provided by the centers. In addition to evidence-based treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), the centers also engage its clients in individual, family, and group therapy, meeting 2-5 days in a week, holistic treatments which include mindfulness, art therapy, experiential therapy, and pet therapy. For teenagers and adolescents suffering from substance abuse, the centers offer three models of treatment: the Promoting Education, Awareness and Knowledge (P.E.A.K) program, the Risk Intervention & Substance Education (R.I.S.E.) program, and the Providing Addiction Treatment and Hope (P.A.T.H.).

Detoxification & Medication Assisted Treatment

The center provides a medically managed detoxification program which helps patients going through the detox process to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings. The program also combines counseling and behavioral therapy to its detox approach in order to address the root cause of their addictions.

Trauma Intensive Outpatient Program

This program is specifically tailored for adults who have either a recent or past history of trauma which contributes to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other symptoms. It is designed to complement other forms of therapy for trauma (e.g. individual and group therapy) and can work as an initial treatment option or an alternative to outpatient therapy.

Intensive Outpatient Program

The center offers a day and night Intensive Outpatient Program that takes up to 2-5 days per week, for three 3 hours daily. Individual, group and family therapy take place every day. The program may also include evaluations and Saturday relapse prevention if necessary.

Partial Care Program

For people who are dealing with substance abuse and need support, this program provides recovery through daily meetings which address addictive behaviors. Holistic therapy is used in the program and clients are encouraged to participate in weekly family sessions.
