Hampton Behavioral Health Center was founded in 1986 and is the only full continuum private psychiatric facility in South Jersey. It offers behavioral health treatments to adolescents, adults and seniors. The hospital’s mission is to excel in diagnosis, treatment and education of clients to help them lead more productive and fulfilling lives. Apart from the main campus at Westampton, the hospital also owns five other facilities that provide counseling and day school programs. The hospital helps patients against alcohol and substance abuse as well as against mental health issues such as emotional distress, depression, family conflicts and trauma. Treatment programs are created based on the age group the patient belongs to. This helps in identification of underlying issues and problems that are manifested in the patient’s behavior. Consequently, treatment plans are created to help patients start their journey towards recovery. The Hampton Hospital offers a variety of treatment programs consisting of Adolescent Inpatient Program, Adult Inpatient Program, Dual-diagnosis program and Outpatient Programs. Housing and Food at Hampton Behavioral Health Center

Hampton Hospital is located in Westampton Township, Burlington County, NJ. It is spread across 23 acres of beautiful green landscape. The building is a 110-bed patient facility where patients share semi-private rooms. There are four units in which patients are divided:

  • Adult
  • Dual-diagnosis
  • Older Adult

Each patient has a separate bed, closet and side table in the semi-private room. Each room has an attached bathroom. The facility also houses creative therapy rooms where patients can express themselves in art therapy, music therapy and therapeutic recreation groups. Options for outdoor activities are also provided in the form of sports, exercise and yoga. A sports court has been renovated recently which provides ample opportunity to patients to play different sports and exercise. Patients can sit in courtyards where they can relax and contemplate while viewing the peaceful scenery. They can also meditate and take part in yoga sessions that are offered twice weekly. Group session and counseling rooms are comfortably decorated with huge windows that show the beautiful green lawns. Meals are served in the cafeteria three times a day. The hospital provides a variety of food options for patients. Special dietary restrictions are also considered. Kosher and vegetarian food is also available for patients.

The hospital also has a Hampton Academy which is a private day school licensed to provide education to children suffering from behavioral health issues. The classes are from grade one to twelve.
