SODAT of New Jersey, Inc. Overview

Situated in the borough of Westville in New Jersey, SODAT of New Jersey, Inc. (known as Services to Overcome Drug Abuse Among Teenagers) is a not-for-profit organization which offers treatment services for adults and adolescents looking to overcome substance abuse issues. The agency operates in various locations across Southern New Jersey including Woodbury, Camden, Westville, Salem, Mount Holly, and Bridgeton. In 1969, the agency was established as non-profit and free-standing in Gloucester County, staffed by professional and experienced substance abuse counselors. The organization was initially founded to treat adolescents and youths but has expanded its treatment programs and services to include persons of all ages. The center extended its services to various counties at different points in its history—Cumberland County in 1995, Salem County in 1978 and so on—and provides Intensive Outpatient Programs as well as traditional outpatient programs. The locations also offer various other services such as student assistance, juvenile criminal justice programs, assessments, prevention programs, and employee assistance. Parent effectiveness education and school-based interventions are also available for clients. Additionally, clients admitted into the facilities work closely with primary counselors to develop an individualized treatment plan that suits their needs.
