INTER-CARE was founded by Robert Smith and Vincent Casolaro in the year 1989. The term “INTER-CARE” was chosen by them to imply a broad range of services, i.e. from Intervention to Aftercare. It aims to provide wide-ranging outpatient programs to persons suffering from alcohol and substance abuse.

Accommodation and Food at Inter-Care
As Inter-Care only offers outpatient programs and as such, there is no housing facility available. People have to take part in its outpatient programs, which are provided at both locations of Inter-Care. Inter-Care has up to three waiting areas and four treatment rooms. All rooms are equipped with modern furnishing where clients can relax.
In terms of food, there are no such options available. You just have to come for the treatment programs on the prescribed timings in between 8:30 AM and 8:00 PM.

Chief Executive Officer
Nick Lessa has been working in the field of addiction treatment for more than 30 years. He started his career as a counselor at some therapeutic community and now serves as the CEO of INTER-CARE. Mr. Lessa is also an associate professor at Adelphi University and NYU of social work. He is countrywide familiar for his impressive chemical dependency lectures.
Mr. Lessa has penned down two works on substance abuse which are Living with Alcoholism and Drug Addiction and Concise Guide to Mental Health: Substance Use Disorders. His contribution is huge when it comes to the field of addiction.
Chief Financial Officer
Maria Gross is the Chief Financial Officer at INTER-CARE. She has been a part of the field of addiction treatment for over 15 years. She has served at various directorship positions before joining this facility. Currently, she is focused on helping families and individuals get quality-based treatment regardless of their insurance coverage and financial status.
Chief Program Officer
Laura Lessa has been serving in the field of chemical dependency treatment since 1994. She has held various management positions in both the public and private sectors. As a chief program officer, she looks after the quality and compliance standards of programs. She oversees the internship program of the facility as a site coordinator.
Laura Lessa is dedicated to INTER-CARE foundation so as to provide treatment to those who cannot afford it and also, a part of INTER-CARE community to develop family and wellness group programs. As a consultant, she takes her skills into effect on Chat2Recovery. She has a SIFFI license along with being a part of NASW and NYC Medical Reserve Corp’s volunteer.
