Pasadena Villa Overview

Located in the city of Orlando, Pasadena Villa is a residential mental health treatment center which was established in 2002. The facility provides comprehensive, personalized psychotherapeutic and psychiatric care for adults aged 18 and above dealing with severe mental illnesses. The psychiatric center boasts of a comfortable, safe, and highly professional environment. Pasadena Villa also bases its treatment processes and services on its Social Integration Model, an internally developed program which consists of cultural, recreational, and social activities to help prepare each client for life after treatment.

Treatment programs are tailored to each client depending on their specific nutritional, medical, sociological, and therapeutic needs and various evidence-based therapy options such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) are also offered on-site. The facility has a highly trained staff consisting of certified psychiatrists, therapists, and psychotherapists capable of providing effective treatment to address mental health disorders such as depression, psychosis, bipolar and anxiety disorders, and autism. Drug addiction recovery and dual diagnosis support are also offered at the center. The Pasadena Villa Network of Psychiatric Services provides residential treatment programs at two of its locations—The Villa in Orlando and the Smoky Mountain Lodge in Tennessee—and outpatient and partial hospitalization programs located at Cary, North Carolina. Additionally, the facility runs a Transitional Living and Learning Center (TLLC) in Orlando for young adults.

Accommodation And Food

The facility is surrounded by vibrant cultural offerings and is set up in an artfully decorated, luxurious resort-style which complies with the highest safety standards. The residential treatment facility is co-ed and is capable of accommodating up to 14 people. The building has the feel of a suburban home and each client is given a private room. Personal electronic devices such as mobile phones are allowed in the facility and a television is available in each room. Residents have access to an athletic facility not far away from the treatment center. Food is served at one large table, family style, which the center considers to be a form of group therapy where residents can learn better social skills from staff in a comfortable setting. Dietary restrictions are accommodated and on-site dieticians work closely with residents in order to form healthy meal plans.

Length of stay at the facility is usually dependent upon the progress of the patient as defined by the patient’s treatment team but most people receive residential treatment for about 3-4 months.

On-site Residential Treatment

The facility’s on-site residential treatment program consists of intensive and community-based residential treatment options. The former is more intensive than the latter and also offers more supervision.

Off-site Residential Treatment

This consists of day treatment and supported housing. The day treatment is designed for individuals who still need support but not intensive residential treatment. It is less rigorous than the community-based residential program but more intensive than the outpatient program.

Transitional Living

The transitional living program in Orlando offers a safe environment for students to learn how to be independent and self-reliant. This program utilizes evidence-based approaches and participants of this program can work in individual and group sessions. Clients are taught decision making, emotional regulation, educational, and social skills.

Pasadena Villa costs vary greatly are subject to change at any time as it is dependent on the kind of treatment being offered. The facility is in-network with some insurance companies and is willing to work with out-of-network providers. Clients are advised to contact the facility on more information about verification, benefits, and payment plans. At this time, Medicaid and Medicare mode of insurance payment is not accepted at the facility.

The treatment center offers holistic and recreational therapies including art and music therapy, academic coaching, life skills coaching, and many more as an addition to its already intensive primary program. Recreational activities such as Frisbee, movie nights, bowling, fishing and many more are offered and strongly encourages by the facilitators as it is believed to help in challenging personal limitations, boundaries, and comfort zones. Transitional living as an aftercare option is given to clients at the Orlando location. International residents are accepted as well but must have valid documents including a valid passport and visa.
In its entirety, the facility provides a well-rounded and comprehensive program which uses a unique approach towards proffering solutions to behavioral health issues with a strong focus on gradually integrating everyday life activities in weekly schedules. Clients are given an avenue to live a normal life even while going through treatments which include group therapy sessions, private one-on-one therapy sessions and many more.

David holds two Master degrees from the University of Minnesota where he majored in Business Administration (MBA) and Hospital Administration (MHA). He has over 25 years of experience working the in the field of behavioral health with a strong passion for helping individuals. Prior to working with the facility, he served in different capacities including Chief Executive Officer of Brentwood Meadows Hospital.

Kristin Wolfe – National Director (Business Development)

Kristin holds a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and has gained different experiences in the behavioral health field as she used to work in Bloomington Meadows Hospital as a Community Liason. Prior to joining the facility, she served in different capacities at different organizations including Options Behavioral Health where she served as the Business Development Director and many more.
