The Horsham Clinic Overview

Horsham clinic is a rehabilitation center which has been in operation for over 60 years. It is located in Ambler, Pennsylvania. This center offers evidence-based treatments to its patients along with a 12-step program. Men, women, and children are catered for at this center, with a special children inpatient program that aims to treat kids with behavioral issues. Inpatient and outpatient treatment are also provided at this clinic. There are many different treatments available to patients suffering from emotional disorders, substance abuse and behavioral disorders including PTSD, anxiety, chemical dependency, social withdrawal, among others. Treatments are designed to fit each patient and help the patient recover in the optimum time. The inpatient treatment at this clinic lasts for an average of 10 days. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is employed in addiction treatment, with the use of chemicals like methadone in opioid addiction detox treatment. Accommodation And Food

The Horsham Clinic residential houses sit on over 55 acres of land. The rooms in this clinic are double occupancy for adults. They contain a bathroom, dressers, and desks. The rooms are designed such that each patient has a comfortable stay while at the clinic. Clients at the clinic are expected to do their own laundry, laundry machines are provided in each unit. There are halls for relaxing where patients can read books, play games and watch TV. Cell phones and gadgets with internet connectivity are prohibited throughout the facility. This clinic is a non-smoking one, and as such, no designated smoking areas are available on the grounds. Care of the clinic and its surrounding is left in the hands of the staff of the facility. There is a well-equipped gymnasium to help keep patient fit while they receive treatment and a basketball court. Food is served cafeteria style in the clinic, meals are taken thrice daily.

Children’s Inpatient Hospitalization Program

Adolescents aged 14 to 18 who suffer from substance abuse and/or behavioral disorder are accepted by the clinic and taken care of.

Phyllis Weisfield

Chief Executive Officer

Phyllis went to Temple University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social work and Rutgers University where she earned a Master’s degree also in Social Work. Prior to holding the position of Chief Executive Officer, she served in different positions such as Director of Social Work in 1994 (which was when she joined the facility), Assistant Administrator, COO, and Clinical Director. She has over 30 years’ experience in the behavioral health sector but working in administration and direct service.

James B. Congbon

Medical Director, Adult Services

James went to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where got his medical degree in 1977. He also went to the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center where he completed his internship in Internal Medicine and the University’s Hospital where he completed a residency in Psychiatry. Before working with the clinic in 2002, James held other positions at various companies such as Lower Bucks Hospital, Lighthouse Landing, and Fairmount Institute ranging from Chief of Psychiatry to Clinical Director. He is board certified to practice Psychiatry.
