Located in the city of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, Conewago Place, a subsidiary treatment center under the leadership of Firetree Limited, is an alcohol and drug abuse treatment center which offers comprehensive and quality care to individuals seeking treatment. Founded in 1991 and originally a non-profit facility for the criminal justice system, Firetree Ltd began and now serves patients in different locations all over Pennsylvania and New York. The facility offers a residential program to men, 18 years and older, with substance abuse issues. Clients registered at this facility are provided the path to long-term sobriety through rigorous therapy and treatments rooted in 12-step.
The facility provides well-rounded, comprehensive, and round-the-clock residential care to individuals suffering from alcohol and drug abuse. During treatment, multiple issues, topics, and skills are addressed such as coping skills, peer support, life skills training, social skills training, and much more.
The first stage of treatment, before admission, involves an intake assessment. This assessment is done to understand the client’s struggles and situation as well as, create the best-individualized care for the prospective patient. After this assessment, clients are admitted into the facility. Individuals seeking detox might not find such care here, but they will be referred to outside facilities.
The residential program is very intense and offers a full schedule of activities which ranges from daily inventories, community meetings, positive affirmations, daily goal setting groups, and other various therapies. The average duration of a lengthened stay at the facility is 45 days, but clients are required to stay for a minimum of 28 days. Treatment offered includes individual therapy, education, and group therapy and all these are offered at least once a week. Other groups for different purposes are offered as well such as small processing group, gender-specific therapy, relapse court, and co-occurring disorders.

Accommodation and Food

The residential facility currently has the capacity to house 55 residents at a time and the building is set up on 12 wooded acres. Clients are required to share bedrooms and bathrooms (2 at a time) and a four-person room is also available. The facility also offers a lecture hall, dining hall, and therapy rooms within the facility. Smoking is allowed but only in designated areas and all clients are entitled to three meals a day.
