Overview of Penn Foundation

Penn Foundation is a Behavioral Health Services facility that offers treatment services to children, adolescents and adults for alcohol and drug addiction and behavioral health disorders such as bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, and others. The mission at the Penn Foundation is to instill hope, inspire change and build community through high-quality healing and treatment services. The foundation’s core values include integrity, quality, responsiveness, respectfulness, and their professional heritage. At Penn Foundations, clients are empowered to recognize their inner resilience and use it with other therapeutic therapies to heal their emotional, physical, and spiritual being. The center offers a number of treatment programs that include inpatient, outpatient, and mental health services. It also offers pastoral services which comprise of chaplaincy services, church consultation, clinical pastoral education, and pastoral assessments. Under the supervision of psychiatrists and clinicians, individualized treatment plans are created for each client. The plans consist of therapeutic approaches to develop sober life skills in clients and motivate them to stay sober and prevent relapse. The board-certified and licensed health care professionals that make up the staff at Penn Foundation provide 24 hours service to clients. Penn Foundation has helped thousands of individuals and families in realizing their fullest mental, physical, and spiritual potential.

Housing and Food at Penn Foundation

The Penn Foundation Recovery Center is sprawled across a huge area that consists of several buildings designated for the various treatment programs and offices. All the buildings and offices are built in modern and new architecture. All rooms, lobbies, and halls are painted in vibrant colors which uplift everybody’s mood. The inpatient facility has 16 beds for the detox program and 39 beds for the rehabilitation program. Residents stay in rooms that offer double or triple occupancy. Rooms are furnished simply but aesthetically with twin beds, side tables, lamps, and closets. Each room has an attached bathroom which residents share. Individual and group therapy rooms are furnished in a comfortable and cozy manner. The common rooms are furnished in comfortable sofas and equipped with flat-screen TVs. A number of opportunities for indoor and outdoor recreational activities are provided to the residents. There is a cafe at the center which provides snacks and refreshments to residents throughout the day. Meals are prepared by the in-house chef and kitchen staff three times a day. Meals are served in the large dining area equipped with chairs and tables. The staff accommodates special food requests or dietary specifications of residents. Besides that, a number of food options are available at each meal time.

For people who do not have insurance or are underinsured, the center tries to offer sliding scale costs. Some indigent clients’ treatment costs are also funded through donations that the center receives. Christopher Squillaro, DO
Medical Director

Dr. Squillaro received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at the University of Maryland/ Sheppard Pratt. He is affiliated with the American Psychiatric Association, American Osteopathic Association, and Pennsylvania Medical School. He has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults in the behavioral health industry.

Wellesley Bailey, MD
Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Bailey received his medical degree from Hahnemann University Hospital Medical School. He completed his postgraduate training at Southern Illinois University. He completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at the Temple University Hospital. He is board certified from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is affiliated with the American Psychiatric Association. His areas of expertise include providing psychiatric services in inpatient, outpatient, and other settings.

Nina Drinnan, MSN, CRNP
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

Nina Drinnan completed her nursing education at the University of Pennsylvania. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Heart Association – ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support). She is affiliated with the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.
