Marworth Center Overview

Marworth is an alcohol and chemical dependency treatment center which is located in the rolling hills of northeastern Pennsylvania. This center is also close to an airport and several highways. This facility has a special program for treating uniformed professionals and healthcare professionals giving them treatments designed to help them while taking the jobs they do into question. Detox treatments, opiate addiction treatment, and eating disorders are just some of the treatments made available at this center, all treatments are evidence-based while still adhering to the 12-step program. There are art, music, trust-building and team building exercises and therapies for the patients at the center. The counselors at Marworth are in charge of developing highly specialized treatment plans that will suit each client, progress is monitored very carefully by the professionals in charge at the center. This center boasts of an Alumni program that keeps the clients and families who have finished the program in touch with one another so they support each other, these alumni members from time to time share their success stories and motivate patients still in the program.

Accommodation, Food, And Welfare

The Marworth center is a mansion-like home. The home has undergone various renovations, expanding it to fit a gym/fitness center and dining wing. It is not a luxury center. Situated on over 26 acres of land the mansion like the center is hard to miss. The rooms are double occupancy with twin beds for residents, the residents are not allowed to stay alone and a such no single private rooms are available, the rooms come equipped with the basic necessities; a dresser, and bathroom for the room occupants. Residents are expected to ensure the cleanliness of their rooms.
Cell phones and gadgets are prohibited in this facility, any gadgets are expected to be submitted during intake. Residents may bring cigarettes and smoke in the designated areas on the compound. The grounds are always well kept by the staff who reside on the compound. There are workout hours when residents are granted access to the gym, basketball court and other fitness facilities. Meals in the center are provided 3 times a day with consideration given to patients with eating disorders, vegetarian and dairy-free foods are also available.

Uniformed professionals deal in a high-stress environment most of the time and have to contend with stress, PTSD, the risk of danger to their physical health and many other problems in their workplace, this program helps the patients relax without the use of drugs or alcohol.

Vice President

Dominic holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton where he majored in Clinical Psychology and Master’s degree from the University of Hartford majoring in Psychology. He held the position of Director of Counseling of the facility for 24 years before serving in the position of Vice President, which he has held for 2 years.

Margaret Jarvis
Chief (Division of Addiction Medicine)

Margaret holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Sweet Briar College and earned a Medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. She also completed her internship, residency, and fellowship in the same college. She is board certified to practice addiction psychiatry, addiction medicine, and psychiatry. She has been working with the treatment center since 1999.
