Treatment Options at Millwood Hospital

Millwood’s main aim is to have the patient’s stabilized as soon as possible when they enter the detox program. Over a period of seven to ten days, clients are kept in a detox unit where they are under the care of full-time doctors who are assisted by nurses and therapists.

When the detox process is complete, clients are then introduced to either an alternative inpatient facility with another organization or to any of the four outpatient programs offered by Millwood. Usually, patients are enroled in an IOP at the Excel Center where treatment can be had anytime between 9:00 am and 9:30 pm from Monday to Friday. Persons being treated for substance abuse generally spend three hours per day at the facility for a period of six weeks.

The mornings are usually dedicated to mental health patients, afternoon sessions are dedicated to substance abuse patients and the evenings usually have a mix of both. Their treatment process involves the12-step principles usually utilized by Alcoholics Anonymous.,
Millwood Hospital is known for the effort they make to offer programs for specialized groups such as seniors and Christians often incorporating faith-based therapy into their treatment sessions for these special groups.

The facility has a number of resources in the Tarrant County Community. They have monthly programs geared toward educating the public about mental health problems and solutions. These topics include dealing with children who have a chemical or substance abuse issue and financial planning for loved ones with an addiction problem. Also has several resources to the Tarrant County community at large.
