Located in Mesa, Arizona, TLC Recovery provide inpatient, outpatient, and sober living services to clients struggling with substance abuse. The center was founded by John Schwary who was an addict himself. Schwary was inspired to offer help to those who have similar problems right after he completed detox. Soon his dream has become a reality. Today, TLC Recovery has the capacity to accommodate 60 patients in a residential facility and 700 clients in its sober living homes across Arizona.
TLC Recovery Services: Treatments, Programs, and Staff
The first step of the rehabilitation process at the TLC Recovery Services is medically supervised detox. It includes administration of Suboxone and Vivitrol if needed. Medication management is also available for clients struggling with dual diagnosis.
Once the drug is out of your system, the treatment phase of the recovery can start. Duration of the program is 90 days, and includes 30 hours per week of individual counseling, group therapy, 12-step meetings, and educational classes. Besides the 12-step philosophy, the treatment is based on cognitive-behavioral approach, motivational interviewing, and the Matrix Model.

Halfway house program is divided into several phases. During the two-week adjustment period, a client is chaperoned by a senior resident. They attend 12-step meetings and run errands together. Within first two weeks of the treatment, the client is obliged to find a sponsor.
When it comes to therapy, residents have to 12-step meetings for 90 consecutive days, partake in relapse prevention program, Big Book classes and peer counseling groups.
The ultimate goal of the halfway house program is that by the level four; the client has a full-time employment. In the meantime, a discharge plan is created to make a transition back to the community as smooth as possible.
Facilities and Extras
Inpatient treatment facility provides a temporary home for 40 men and 20 women. Men stay in apartments, while women are placed in of-site houses. Food is prepared by cooks and clients are provided with three hot meals a day, plus brunches and suppers on weekends.
Within a sober living program, there are two houses for LGBT clients.
Rules and Regulations in TLC Recovery Services
The cost of a 30-day sober living program is $440. The price includes three meals per day, peer counseling, and help regarding the employment. The price of a 30-day residential treatment is $4,500. If a client cannot afford treatment, there is a possibility that they receive help anyway and pay back their debt after they find a job. Other payment methods include private insurance, self-pay, EAP, and financing plans.
The center does not offer help to sex offenders and individuals who committed violent crimes.
