Accommodation and Food

The inpatient track is available to clients at the ACT Unit located in Fairmont, West Virginia. The residential quarters can accommodate a capacity crowd of 12 clients at a time. These may comprise of 6 male residents and 4 female residents with two extra beds kept in reserve that can be available by clients of any gender depending on the current census. The rooms are separated by gender and shared by residents belonging to the same sex.
Food is prepared and served three times a day from a facility nearby. Clients have access to a microwave and a toaster throughout their stay allowing them to take care of their own snacks. Sundays are special occasions when clients are allowed to go on a supervised grocery store run to buy and prepare a communal dinner.

The residential treatment followed by sober Living can last anywhere between 1 to 6 months.
The outpatient programs, on the other hand, occur in 3-hour sessions with clients meeting 3 times every week. These programs are also open to DUI offenders who have been court mandated to attend weekly counseling. There are provisions available to provide free counseling to DUI offenders who are unable to pay for their mandatory sessions and are found eligible.
