Worthmore Addiction Services: Treatments, Programs, and Staff
The first step towards recovery in the Worthmore Addiction Services is thorough assessment. This step allows the staff to create a highly individualized treatment plan for each of the clients.
Medically supervised detox includes safe withdrawal from drugs or alcohol under constant monitoring of medical staff. The center also provides medications if needed.
Partial hospitalization program includes individual counseling, group therapy, lectures, and educational classes. The program usually lasts four weeks, and patients attend therapy sessions each weekday from 8:30 AM to 4 PM.
Intensive outpatient program includes 3-hour therapy sessions 3 times a week, with one hour reserved for lectures or educational classes, and the remaining two hours reserved for group sessions.
Both treatment modalities are based on the 12-step philosophy, so the clients are required to attend AA or NA meetings two times a week. Besides 12-steps, the treatment sessions, led by licensed addiction counselors, are based on cognitive-behavioral therapy and reality therapy.
Groups are usually small, no more than ten patients.
