Accommodation, Meals & Schedules

The facility is situated in a beautiful and private 32-acre landscape. Residents at the California Highlands Addiction Treatment Center are provided with nutritious, healthy meals and snacks during the detox period to promote good physical and mental conditions. The facility offers private rooms for clients.

Although residents are required to share a room with at least one partner, utmost privacy within the space is guaranteed. Bed linens and all meals are provided for all residents. Breakfast is usually served around 6:00 am, lunch at 12:00 pm and dinner at 6:00 pm, with gym exercises, group sessions and mediation sessions scattered in between. An hour during the day is usually set aside for relaxing. Bedtime is set to 7:00 pm.

The facility boasts of furnished, gorgeous facilities which include furnished rooms, modern living areas, a private chef skilled at cooking for dietary needs and balancing foods for a healthy lifestyle, fitness center/gym and an outdoor recreational area. Laundry services are made available for residents but they are advised to bring essential items from home, including shoes, multivitamins, toothbrush and toothpaste, feminine hygiene products and any over-the-counter medication one might need (e.g. Aspirin, Ibuprofen etc.) Food of any kind is prohibited since residents will be treated to three meals every day.

Pricing

California Highlands Treatment Center costs $45,000 for a 30-day treatment which can be paid immediately through the self-payment plans available or by the insurance provided. All treatments, activities, feeding, and housing are included in the cost. The normal duration for a lengthened stay is 60 days.

California Highlands accepts most common payment options including insurance plans, so whatever private (out-of-network) insurance type used is probably acceptable, but a form will be given to fill in the insurance provider, insurance ID number, last four digits of SSN#, plan (PPO, POS, EPO or HMO) and other necessary information needed. The insurance information is taken at the initial evaluation stage and will then be verified to make sure the benefits cover all necessary payments. Payment plans and Co-pay options are also available.

However, they currently do not accept:

Facility

The facility promises an upscale and luxurious experience to its clients although rooms are shared with one client, they guarantee privacy. It is located in a natural, serene environment which helps to aid the healing process. The clients have a set timetable from the breakfast time at 6:00 am to bedtime at 7:00 am which includes, mindfulness meditation groups, mental health education sessions, recreational activities and more.

Clients enjoy a one on one relationship with the staff which gives the clients a sense of security and allows for complete mind and body healing in a comfortable environment. Clients input are essential for creating a treatment plan in order to discover what works best with the client and to obtain the optimum result. Management also helps to book travel and makes arrangements for safe transportation of clients from their location to the facility where they are admitted within 24 hours. Recreational activities include yoga, hiking, gym, and swimming.

Paul, with almost 30 years in the business, has gained experience in administration, finances, healthcare, human resources, and the healthcare and hospitality industry. Paul is married with a daughter in college and a son who’s currently in high school.

Dr. Keerthy Sunder

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Sunder has more than twenty years of experience in the understanding of how mind and body work together to make for better health all round and brings that to CHAT. He holds multiple diplomas from reputable institutions such as The American Board of Addiction Medicine, and The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, London. He is a member of the American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the American Psychiatric Association and a host of others.

Philip McKinnon

Therapist

He is a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) intern holding a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a major in MFT from the Pepperdine University, California. His interest in human behavior in relation to their mental health, and how thinking and feeling drive the actions of people, is what led Philip to pursue a career in this field. He has 8 years’ experience working with children and boys at risk in group homes, substance abuse patients, as well as adults and children in clinical settings.
