Serenity at Stout Street Overview

Serenity is an intensive residential treatment program for persons with drug and alcohol addiction. The treatment program is a part of Stout Street Foundation which was founded over 40 years ago as a nonprofit self-sufficient organization whose mission is to provide the necessary services and support in a structured therapeutic community environment to assist persons with addiction in the recovery process. Serenity program was established about 11 years ago, and it’s achieved great success in treating women and men who are addicted to alcohol or drugs.

Serenity at Stout Street Housing

While many rehabilitation facilities are located in a scenic setting Serenity is a little bit different. The treatment center is situated right next to a highway which isn’t the most peaceful area on the planet. In most cases, 12 to 14 clients are in the facility at the time, but sometimes there are 20. Two clients share a room which also has a bathroom. Rooms, like in other treatment facilities, are gender-specific. The building has a comfortable interior and a home-like vibe, which is important in the recovery process. Only when they feel comfortable and safe will clients be able to embark on the journey toward a substance-free lifestyle.

Serenity at Stout Street Treatment Options

As mentioned above Serenity provides a short-term intensive residential treatment, and it’s natural to wonder whether this type of recovery is beneficial. Short-term treatment is significant for the whole process of recovery. For many persons with drug or alcohol addiction, it’s difficult to remove themselves from the toxic environment which can include triggers, people, routines, or just about anything else. The primary benefit of short-term recovery is the ability to allow clients to separate themselves from the environments in which they became addicted to alcohol or drugs. Throughout the course of the treatment, clients are encouraged to focus on their individual goals and needs.
It’s important to mention this is not a detox facility and prior to admission client needs to be clean from drugs and alcohol for 28 days. The treatment center also offers holistic approaches that aim to address the emotional, physical, spiritual, and nutritional aspects of wellbeing. Serenity uses 12-step and its principles to tackle underlying reasons and conditions of client’s addiction. Through mandatory 12-step approach, clients get a new perspective of past events but also build a stronger foundation for substance-free future.
At Serenity, clients have zero temptations to relapse and along with treatment services they receive education, support, and all necessary mechanisms needed for their recovery.

Serenity at Stout Street Therapies Provided

The basis of a strong treatment program for substance abuse problems resides on therapies. Therapies provided by Serenity allow clients to work on their emotional and mental health, discover the roots of their addiction, develop coping mechanisms and learn new skills. Below, you can see some therapies provided by this short-term residential treatment center:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR therapy)
  • Motivational enhancement therapy
  • Motivational interviewing

Serenity at Stout Street Payment Options

The primary objective of Serenity and Stout Street Foundation is to make treatment for addiction accessible to all. With that purpose in mind, they made sure the costs of the treatment are affordable. Multiple payment options are available including self-pay. As far as insurance is concerned, it’s accepted, but its acceptability varies from one facility to another. In some cases, the insurance plan covers only a portion of the rehabilitation stay, so it’s always practical to consult the provider and Serenity about the treatment and its coverage. The program offers sliding scale options and financing plans to help their patients cover costs of the treatment they need to recover.

Serenity at Stout Street Licenses

Serenity is licensed by the state of Colorado, and it also obtained accreditation from SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration). SAMHSA has a goal to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental health problems on community, and it’s, definitely, a positive thing that Serenity is a part of that program.
