LifeStream Behavioral Center is a behavioral health and social services organization that offers a number of treatment and welfare services to children, adolescents, and adults. The mission of LifeStream Behavioral Center is to support recovery, promote health, and create hope for everyone who enters the center with their unique issues. The center started working as a component of Waterman Memorial Hospital in 1969 and became an independent non-profit organization in 1971. Each year, the center is able to help thousands of individuals and families fight the battles against addiction, substance abuse, mental illnesses, and co-occurring behavioral health disorders. The center offers a sweeping total of 52 programs for children, adolescents, and adults. These programs offer a wide range of services including treatment, education, care management, rehabilitation, child welfare, primary care, and homeless services. The center offers short-term as well as long-term residential programs. Each client is assessed individually and a personalized treatment plan is carved out for him/her. Depending on the severity of issues, gender, needs, and motivation, each client is assigned a particular level of care. Clients are taught tools to develop life skills, communication skills, self-care skills, and recovery orientation to help them adjust back in the community as smoothly as possible.

Housing and Food at LifeStream Behavioral Center

The residential program offered at LifeStream Behavioral Center is called Adult Choice. It is located in Leesburg, Florida nestled between green landscapes and trees. The center comprises a main building which is surrounded by lush green lawns and pathways. It offers a safe, supportive, nurturing, and structured environment to its clients where they can start their journey of hope, healing, and recovery. The center can accommodate 16 residential patients at one time. Clients of the same gender stay in double or triple-occupancy rooms. Each room is furnished simply with twin beds, side tables, and closets. An attached bathroom is provided with each room. There is a media room inside the campus where clients can watch TV and play games to pass their free time. Residents are also provided with a number of opportunities for recreation including indoor and outdoor sports. Clients are provided with three nutritious meals each day. The center does not have any in-house kitchen staff or chefs. Meals are catered from a local restaurant. Meals are healthy and well-balanced which include a variety of options for clients to enjoy. Special dietary restrictions and food allergies of clients are also accommodated in the meals provided. All residents eat together in the dining hall.

The staff at LifeStream Behavioral Center includes psychiatrists, registered nurse practitioners (RNPs), psychologists, social workers, clinicians, nurses, case managers, psychiatric technicians, therapists, counselors, licensed counselors, licensed social workers, and others. The center does not have physicians as direct employees but makes contracts with medical physicians and physician assistants who provide their medical services to clients and residents of the center. All staff members are supervised by a team of Directors who provide them with guidance and direction. They oversee operations of various treatment programs and work in integration with clients and families to help them achieve lasting recovery.
