Project Turnabout Overview

Project Turnabout is an addiction recovery center whose services offer real hope for a brighter future for people who are addicted to drugs, alcohol, and gambling. The treatment center was founded 48 years ago, in 1971, and began providing both inpatient and outpatient services in the abandoned sanitarium on the outskirts in Granite Falls, Minnesota. • Men’s Center for Alcohol and Drug Recovery – 20-bed facility, long stay (45-120+ days)
• Women’s Center for Alcohol and Drug Recovery – 27-bed facility, short and long stay (28-120+ days)
• Vanguard Center for Gambling Recovery – 20-bed facility, co-ed program, 30 days

The main campus is comfortable with an oak wood interior that creates a homey atmosphere. Bedrooms house two or three patients, but there’s also a lounge area for community activities. Project Turnabout also includes residential facilities at different locations including Earl’s Place (men’s sober living home) and Cheri’s Place (women’s sober living home).

Project Turnabout Treatment Options

As mentioned above Project Turnabout provides both inpatient and outpatient services. The treatment center also offers detoxification which is performed in a nine-bed facility which serves patients from a 10-county region primarily. That being said, patients from other counties in the state can also use this service.
Treatment programs created by Project Turnabout include the following:

• Continuing care – embraces an individualized care approach where patients participate in group therapy sessions, lectures, individual counseling, family education, and 12-step support groups
• Family program – provides valuable education on alcohol, drug, and gambling addictions for family members of patients
• Men’s inpatient – starts with a strong, realistic treatment plan for men ages 18 or older. The length of the treatment can be short-term (28-45 days) or long-term (45-120 days). This treatment program is all about nurturing health, balancing relationships with oneself and loved ones
  Men’s transitional living – halfway house located in Marshall, Minnesota, a supportive place for those in the early recovery. Program participation ranges from 60 to 180 days and includes group therapy, lectures, 12-step support groups, spirituality groups, and family groups
• Outpatient – designed to embrace a person-centered approach and it involves weekly treatment planning and individual counseling sessions, 12-step recovery, particularly focuses on steps 1-5
• Women’s inpatient – offers opportunities for women to develop the tools necessary to begin the recovery process. Like men’s inpatient program this one can also be long-term or short-term
