Overview of Mission Teens, Inc.

Mission Teens, Inc. is a Christian-based rehabilitation center that offers its services to individuals particularly teens and adolescents for drug addiction and substance abuse. The mission of Mission Teens, Inc. is to help people heal and recover through the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The center was established in 1969 as a small residential facility and non-denominational Christian Discipleship Ministry. Since then, the center has been able to help more than 20,000 individuals and families recover and rebuild their lives. During treatment, clients take part in daily Bible study which includes a comprehensive study of the New and Old Testaments. The treatment program comprises structured activities and a rigid daily schedule which includes the Bible study, house chores, and counselor training. The program is made up of four phases with each phase spanning 2-4 months duration. In the first phase, clients go through the induction period with few responsibilities and privileges. In the next two phases, clients’ responsibilities and study periods are increased to help them strengthen their relationship with the Lord. In the final phase, clients are offered counselor training so that they can guide and counsel other clients and set a good example for everyone.

Housing and Food at Mission Teens, Inc.

Mission Teens, Inc. has several locations across the country; each providing a comfortable and closer-to-nature environment for clients where they embark on the road to recovery through a Christian-based and Bible-centered approach. The facilities are co-ed with gender-segregated units available for clients. Clients stay in dorm-style bedrooms which can accommodate 3-4 patients at one time. Rooms are furnished with single beds or bunk-beds, side tables, and storage space for each client. Bathrooms are also dorm-style shared among residents. There are churches where clients are offered spiritual education and Bible studies. Residents follow a strict schedule which includes study and chores that they have to complete. The chores include cleaning, doing their laundry, and helping out in the kitchen. The center has an in-house kitchen staff, supervised by a chef, which prepares healthy and nutritious home-style meals for residents. Clients have a variety of food options to choose from including vegan, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian options. Side option of some vegetable, protein, and starch is also available at lunch and dinner time. Residents help the kitchen staff in preparing and serving meals and also in cleaning up later. Special requests and dietary restrictions of clients are also accommodated by the chef.
