Overview of Bassett House

Bassett House has been providing rehabilitation services to adolescent and teenage victims of substance abuse for over 40 years since its establishment in 1975. The center specializes in offering intensive residential treatment and family-focused interventions to young people aged between 13 and 18 years.

This facility is an offshoot of another substance dependency treatment organization called the Health Recovery Services. This organization offers rehabilitation services for women as well as outpatient services at a number of locations throughout the state. Accommodation and Food

The facilities at Bassett House are situated on a considerably large 40-acre plot. They can accommodate a capacity of 26 clients. The residential quarter comprises a one-story building with two separate wings for male and female residents. Each room is shared by three residents and comes furnished with the essentials. This includes three twin-sized beds, tables, and closets. Every room has an attached bath to be shared by the residents.
The facility also provides residents with a number of recreational opportunities in the form of TVs, a basketball court, and a Volleyball court. During the school year, the center offers on-site classes so that resident students can carry on with their education while undergoing treatment. Food is provided as part of the local school lunch program in the form of three meals a day. A pre-set menu is followed but provisions are available to accommodate special dietary requests due to allergies.

Bassett House Amenities

Bassett House usually accepts young substance abuse victims based on referrals made by their schools or court orders. Incoming clients usually first join the outpatient programs before being transferred to the residential. Each client is assigned a case manager who draws up individualized treatment plans and oversees its progress.
Individual clients are placed in either 45 or 60-day programs depending on the diagnosis formed based on the initial assessment. Clients can later extend their stay if they feel it to be necessary. The facility also has an aftercare program that offers continued care to outgoing clients to ensure relapse prevention. Thus, it is evident that a lot of care and planning goes into making sure that every aspect of a prospective resident’s recovery at this rehab goes smoothly.

Linda Rust – Program Director

Linda Rust is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision designation (LISW-S), a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC), and a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA). She has extensive hands-on experience in the field of behavioral health which helps her perform her duties at Bassett House. As the program director, she is in charge of the planning of treatment programs as well as overseeing their implementation.

Nancy Baur – Clinical Coordinator

Nancy Baur is the clinical coordinator at Bassett House in charge of overseeing the clinical departments and coordinating with other departments to ensure the progress of clients’ recovery. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) as well as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC III). She brings a demonstrated work history in the field of behavioral healthcare and chemical dependency intervention to her position at Bassett House.
