Inova CATS Program Overview

Located in the independent city of Falls Church, Virginia, the Inova CATS program is a provider of comprehensive addiction and chemical dependency treatment services for adults. The program treats patients struggling with addiction to various forms of drugs and chemicals with the help of an expert addiction treatment team consisting of nurses, certified addiction counselors, psychiatrists, licensed therapists, and many more. The program is provided by the Inova health system, a non-profit health organization which provides treatment for more than two million each year. The organization has five hospitals with almost 2,000 beds and encompasses the complete array of health services including wellness programming and education. The levels of care offered are structured and designed to meet the distinct needs of each patient. Some of these services include the medically-managed detox program, Suboxone treatment, partial hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and day treatment programs. The program also provides full dual diagnosis support in an intensive outpatient program for persons dealing with co-occurring issues. Medication-assisted therapies, psychiatric assessments, and sober living programs are also made available for clients.

Inpatient Medical Detoxification

The detox program is medically managed and takes place in a stand-alone inpatient center on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. The detox process is designed for persons going through the acute, physical discomfort of withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol who need constant medical supervision. This program also includes counseling and aftercare planning.

Day Treatment/Partial Hospitalization Program

The day treatment program is short-term, intensive, and may act as either a basic treatment foundation for a patient or a means of transition from an inpatient treatment program. Clients undergo treatment between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.

Sober Living Program

The sober living program is offered in the form of group therapy which happens for 90 minutes each week. This program assists clients’ transition to long-lasting recovery through the use of support and self-help groups.

Intensive Outpatient Program

The intensive outpatient program offers personalized and integrated treatment plans for persons who have completed the inpatient care. Clients are treated for up to three hours daily, five days per week. This program is also a lot less structured than the residential program.

Jones holds a Bachelor’s degree from the J. William Fulbright College in Zoology and a Medical degree from the University of Arkansas (Medical Sciences). He completed a residency at Vanderbilt University and is a professor at the University of Virginia in the Urology department. Prior to holding the position of President and C.E.O of Inova, he served in different capacities in up to 11 hospitals including Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospital where he served as president.

Terri Feely
Chief People Officer

Terri holds a Bachelor’s degree from West Liberty University in Business Administration and Management and also a Master’s degree from Marymount University in Human Resources Management. Prior to joining this facility, she served in different capacities at different organizations including her own start-up Human Resource Consulting company.

Loring Flint
Chief Physician Executive

Loring holds a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University in Medical Science and a Doctorate degree in Medicine from the same university as well. He also holds a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago in Business Administration. He manages and oversees all issues revolving around the Inova’s pharmacy, disaster planning, behavioral health, and more.
